Faith Comes by Hearing Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17) In other words, faith begins where the word of God is heard. If you say that you have faith and you do not have the Word you are faithless. O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you Jesus told his disciples. Romans 10:14 says How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
Numbers 13:30 says And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. 31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. 32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. 33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. Numbers 14:1 And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.
Here is the faith principle, only when we hear the Word of God does faith come. Faith begins where the Word of God is known. No word, no faith, great word great faith. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
